Market News for April 1, 2015

Easter Egg Hunt

The Downtown Hattiesburg Farmers Market will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt for children under 10 this Thursday, April 2. We'll meet at the gazebo (near the kids' art area) at 4 pm. Kids should bring their own basket or bag for their collected eggs. The event is free, thanks to a generous donation of Easter Eggs from Stone Properties; there will be a voluntary donation box at the Farmers Market booth to help cover the cost of egg contents which will include candy and vouchers, redeemable for items from our vendors. Bring the family and enjoy the afternoon in the park... and be sure to sample the assortment of local, ready-made foods, and take home fresh produce from area farmers!

Yoga in the Park, Weekly @ 5:15

The Downtown Hattiesburg Farmers Market is proud to present Yoga in the Park this season at Town Square Park! The all-skills-level community practice continues this week at 5:15, lead by yogi Whitney Miracle. Participants can enjoy stretches in the park, and take home healthy, fresh produce from local farmers. Grab a friend, grab a mat, and join in as we stretch for a Healthy Hattiesburg!

Music at the Market

Music this week will be provided by well-loved local duo Scott Chism & the Better Half. Come and enjoy their music as you shop and visit with friends at the market. Feel free to bring a blanket or chair and enjoy springtime in the park; be sure and check out the new scuptures gracing Town Square Park, thanks to the Hattiesburg Alliance for Public Art! Music will begin on the pavillion stage at 3:00!

"Scott Chism is a story teller. HIs warm drawl makes even the most simple of his stories seem like epic tales... Their back porch poetry with its humor and old southern morals is set to a blend of Americana, folk and bluegrass that inspires as it entertains" -- Sam Miller, Blue Healer Music
